August 10, 2025 – Torry Miller: hot day prep

Man, it’s hot out here today and I’m dirty and sweaty, but we’re making progress. This is the same plot my boy bush-hogged with the Bobcat, and now I’ve got the tractor and disc working it up. The goal is to get an Evolved food plot in before I leave.

This spot has always been a favorite. I’ve had mock scrapes and trail cam pics of big bucks here in the past, so I’m planning to freshen that up with some Black Widow and new batteries in the camera.

The big move is setting a Redneck blind right where the tractor is sitting. From there I’ll be able to cover the whole plot, and I’ll probably drop a scrape tree in the middle to pull deer into range. Between that and the scrapes already around the edges, it should set up nice.

I’ll be here in Illinois a couple more days working on dozer projects and hanging some Novix sets, so stay tuned — more updates coming soon.
