July 17, 2025 – Jesse Staab: Hoping for a Big Buck on His Smallest IL Farm

Back in my home state of Illinois today, working a little magic on what’s probably my smallest farm — but don’t let the size fool you.

We just wrapped up spraying the plot, and the plan is to get some greens in here within the next couple of weeks. It’s one of those spots that doesn’t need much, just the right timing and the right deer to show up.

Hung one Stealth Cam today and plan to add a few more once we’re back in to plant. There’s been some solid bucks in this area in the past, so here’s hoping one of those Illinois giants shows up on cam soon — maybe even a Booner.
