July 14, 2025 - Jeff Klump: IL Bean Plot Update and Spraying

Back in Illinois today at the same bean pocket where I killed that 8-point on December 30, 2024. That hunt was all about patterning—my Stealth Cam showed that buck hitting this field five mornings in a row. I slipped in early that morning and it paid off.

Now it’s mid-July, and I’m back to check on the beans I planted about 3–4 weeks ago. Things are looking solid, and it’s time to give them a boost. Today I hit the plot with Deer Grow 31818, which I love because I can tank mix it with 2,4-D and glyphosate—a one-stop solution. This knocks down the weeds and feeds the beans all in one pass.

If all goes to plan, this will be the last spray before fall, and we’ll be in great shape when season rolls around.
