July 3, 2025 - Javin Mullet: Season 9 Countdown: Field Work and Final Touches

It’s the evening of July 3rd, and I’m wrapping up a full day behind the screen and in the field.

The morning started off with video edits and scheduling content across the Whitetail Edge socials. We’re getting everything dialed in for the launch of Season 9, which officially kicks off July 15 across all platforms—YouTube, CarbonTV, Mossy Oak GO, and the DeerCast app. Shoutout to Oliver Parker, who’s been working closely with me on producing the new episodes. It’s always a grind, but I’m pumped about what we’ve put together.

After a few hours in the office, I shifted gears and hit the field to fill feeders—five total across three different properties. If you’ve ever used Boss Buck feeders, you know they aren’t for the faint of heart:

  • The 600 lb feeders take 20 buckets of corn each
  • The 1,200 lb feeders? That’s a whopping 40 buckets

Let’s just say my arms are toast, and I’ll probably be feeling it tomorrow. I had a gravity wagon behind the truck, so backing right up helped, but climbing that ladder all afternoon will wear on you.

I’ve also got Stealth Cams running on each feeder. It’s always fun seeing velvet bucks in the summer. While we know these summer bucks might not stick around come fall, they’re usually not far—within a few miles at most. Still, there’s something exciting about watching antlers grow and imagining the fall potential.

Tomorrow’s the 4th of July and we’ve got a long weekend ahead. I hope you get some time to relax and spend time with family. And don’t forget—take a moment to remember what this holiday is really about.

Until next time,
– Javin
