July 5, 2025 – Jason Pollock: Cameras, Scrapes and a Clover Kill Spot

It’s July 5th around 3:30 p.m. and I’ve been out hanging a few cameras this afternoon. Right now I’m sitting on the edge of a bean field, watching a handful of good trails come together.

I’ve got one trail coming in from the left, another cutting across the middle, and one more coming out to the far side. I hit a couple of them with Black Widow Branch Butter and made a quick mock scrape underneath to start pulling in inventory.

Just around the corner is a little kill spot I’m really liking. I broadcasted some Evolved Clover in there earlier this season and it’s filling in real nice. I hit it with some spray not long ago and it’s looking clean.

I’ve got a Stealth Cam set up and plan to hit that clover patch with some more Branch Butter and Black Widow scent to make another big scrape. The layout is tight—just a tucked-away edge—but it’s the kind of place I can sneak a stand in and make a move.
There are also a few older scrapes nearby that the deer hit consistently. I’ll probably grab a few more cameras to cover this area better, but for now I’m just easing into it and getting the first few out.
