July 15, 2025 – Hunter Kloke: Glassing, Rain Tactics, and a Rare Albino Encounter
What’s up everybody – just checking in with a little summer scouting update. It’s been full-tilt farm work mode lately, prepping hard for fall plots and keeping an eye on what’s moving.
I’ve been glassing like crazy, and the other night I laid eyes on a buck that’s got some real potential. He was way out, so no clear look just yet. I slipped into the area and dropped some Black Magic, making sure to loosen the dirt to help that mineral soak in with the morning rain.
Speaking of rain – I try to time a lot of my prep work around wet weather in the summer. It helps me stay undetected when I’m sweating and leaves less scent behind. Another shower was rolling in soon after, so it was perfect timing to hang a Stealth Cam and stay off the radar.
Got kind of a rare sighting too – caught a glimpse of a small albino spike while riding around. Nothing big, but definitely a cool moment and managed to snag some footage on the phone.
This area I’m focusing on is a prime rut funnel come fall, but for now, it’s all about summer movement—tree lines, fence rows, beans, and standing corn. No big woods, just pockets they like to cruise. I’ve got a few spots picked for a stand if this buck or something better keeps showing up.
If he doesn’t pan out, I’ve got other cameras running and plans to get a few more up. Hoping to get on a good one by early September. Until then, it’s boots on the ground, and the grind continues.
